Frankly, folks just don’t want to be lectured at on how to relate to other people. They want to live it. So don’t talk about “generational harmony”… just schedule small group time where everyone is a teacher of something that is useful. I suspect one of the reasons it’s so powerful is that there is no faster trust-builder than handing someone the microphone when they don’t expect it. And I guess that’s where you get the change in tone… and the tone, once it’s been set, can last.
